Collecting accurate field data is an art. It’s a craft that is mastered and perfected upon. It takes time and practice. We have spent the better part of the last two decades learning and perfecting our ability to quickly and accurately map massive expanses of territory. There is a great deal of satisfaction to be gained from doing something well, of such superior quality that you know it is going to stand the test of time. It makes the hard work and the obsessing over each and every detail worth all the effort. That’s our reward.

Experience

Global Mapping Solutions personnel have been conducting precise and comprehensive GPS field inventories for over 30 years. Many of our field inventories have been for electric utilities throughout the United States. We have accomplished over 70 successful field inventories for electric utilities, many of them electric cooperatives. The founder and President of GMS, Jim Nelson, has been in the GPS industry for 37 years.

Our Team

We have the most experienced team of field data collectors in the industry. We keep all of our data collectors after a project and move them on to the next one. Why? The reason is simple; so that they continue to get better, to improve upon their craft of data collection. Sure we could save a few bucks and hire any Joe off the street and teach them the basics, but the result would be cheap data. We are confident when we say that we have the best in the business.
